Daily Lunches

We provide a meal site for Senior Nutrition Services to serve lunches daily Monday through Friday. Having lunch at the Senior Center is a great way to gather socially with fellow senior citizens. Donations for lunch are requested based on your monthly income. If you're interested in having lunch at the senior center, you need to call (269) 468-5682 two days prior to coming in for lunch.

TRANSPORTATION

Volunteers donate their time to drive the center's vehicles to bring seniors who live in our service area and are 60 years of age or older to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and rides to the center for lunch. Transportation is available from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Monday through Friday and is limited to areas of Berrien County.

LOAN CLOSET

We have wheelchairs, walkers, stool risers, bedside commodes, bathtub seats, etc. available for short term loan. If you need an item for short-term use, call us before you buy.

Forms Assistance

Staff members are available by appointment to help with questions or assist with filling out applications regarding Medicaid, Medicare, and simple tax forms such as homestead property tax credit and home heating credit.

K.I.S.S
(Keeping Independent Seniors Safe)

We have someone on staff that makes daily calls to seniors living alone to check on their welfare. Call if you or someone you know needs this service.

COMPUTER LAB

On Tuesday mornings from 9:00 am until noon, a volunteer is available to assist you on the computer and internet, (APPOINTMENT NECESSARY). We have an area set up with computer systems and internet for seniors to use as needed. If you need help with Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, etc., call the center at (269)468-3366 and we'll set up a time on Tuesday morning for you to come in and work with either Eva Baumeister, Era Snyder, Cliff Tallman, or Carl Spessard, our computer assistant volunteers.

SURPLUS COMMODITIES

The commododities program is a state program run by the Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency of Benton Harbor. This program is designed for low-income households and provides a small variety of canned and dry goods for qualifying seniors. For more information and income guidelines just give us a call.
